Sabudana Vada, one of my favorite fasting snacks is a fried patty made with tapioca pearls (sago), potatoes, peanuts and herbs.

Sabudana Vada is a Maharashtrian delicacy made with tapioca pearls, mashed potatoes, ground peanuts, chillies and cumin seeds. Crispy and crunchy Sabudana Vada are the perfect tea time snack! Ingredients of Sabudana Vada

  1. Prepare 1 cuP of Tapioca pearls.
  2. Prepare 3 of boiled potatoes.
  3. It’s 1 cup of Roasted peanuts(coarsely ground).
  4. Prepare 1 of "Ginger(Grated).
  5. You need 1 of Green chilly.
  6. Prepare leaves of Coriander.
  7. Prepare of Oil for frying.
  8. It’s of Salt.
  9. It’s of Garam masala.
  10. Prepare of Black pepper power.
  11. Prepare of Coriander powder.
  12. You need of Dry mango powder.

These fried vadas (fritters) are made with sabudana (sago) and require only a handful of ingredients. Sabudana vada is an Indian dish, typically consumed (on fasting days) in Maharashtra. Grate raw potato in a bowl and remove the moisture in it. How to make Sabudana Vada-Soaked sabudana or sago mixed with potatoes, chillies and groundnuts, shaped into cutlets and deep fried till crunchy and golden brown.

Sabudana Vada instructions

  1. Wash n soak sahi seeds for 4-5 hours..
  2. After 5 hours drain the excess water.sago seeds will be puffed up by then..
  3. In a bowl, add sago seeds, peanuts,mashed potatoes,coriander leaves, Ginger,green chilly and all the dry masala..
  4. Mix it well to form a dough..
  5. Take a lemon size ball out of this dough. Roll it in a circle n then slightly flatten it to shape it like cutlet..
  6. Like this, prepare all the vadas..
  7. Now heat oil in a pan for frying..
  8. When the oil is hot enough fry these vadas from both sides..
  9. Strain it on a tissue paper..
  10. Serve it with green chutney..
  11. You can even shallow fry it if you are health freak!.
